Dr. Vincent Lam is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist certified to treat and manage eye health, eye diseases, and eye injuries. He graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2009. While at the University of Houston College of Optometry, he also received specialized training in ocular pathology, managing refractive and ocular surgery, contact lenses and full scope primary optometric care in a private practice. With an interest in research, Dr. Lam presented vision research at the Association for Research in Vision Ophthalmology in 2006. Dr. Lam’s office specializes in specialty contact lens fits that can help people see near and far, and even patients with dry eyes. We also can manage ocular diseases such as Dry Eye, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataracts, and others. We have the latest technology to help diagnose, track, and manage those disease such as retinal imaging, OCT, and visual field testing. Dr. Lam enjoys being a Doctor of Optometry because it allows him to serve others in a very fulfilling capacity. He shared that as an optometrist, we help patients enhance and protect their vision. In the process of doing so, we develop personal relationships with patients and their families that can span generations. Dr. Lam’s passion in life outside of the world of optometry include spending time with family, the outdoors, sports and staying active.

Dr. David Chavez is a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist certified to treat and manage eye health, eye diseases, and eye injuries. Dr. Chavez graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry with Magna Cum Laude Honors. He chose to become an optometrist because he believes that there is more to the eyes than just glasses and contacts. Vision is one of the greatest senses that we have. Dr. Chavez says ‘besides always needing correction for my own vision, I learned through my educational journey the many components that can affect the quality and quantity of our vision and the correlation of our general health with our eyes.’

Dr. Chavez enjoys helping others and making a difference in the community.

Areas that Dr. Chavez specializes in are specialty contact lenses including gas permeable and scleral lenses, foreign body removals, dry eye, strabismus, pre/post-op cataract, and refractive surgery care. For children who are not able to read or talk yet, Dr. Chavez evaluates the eye muscles, signs of strabismus/lazy eye, focusing ability, pupil reaction, and anterior and posterior ocular health. Dr. Chavez does an objective evaluation of refractive error without the need for patient response to see if they need vision correction

In his free time he likes to travel, spend time with his family, eat, work out and play video games. Dr. Chavez is fluent in Spanish and English.

Dr. Rhonda Manuel-Saldivar is a native Houstonian and grew up in the North Houston / Spring area. Dr. Manuel was awarded her Bachelor of Science along with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1984 at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She successfully completed both degree requirements and graduated at a young age 23!
Dr. Manuel completed dual certification as a Therapeutic Optometrist and also obtained licensure as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist which is the highest level licensure awarded by the State of Texas Optometry Board.
Prior to serving the Magnolia area since 2000, Dr. Manuel spent more than 15 years on the medical staffs of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Mann Eye Clinic and Cigna Northwest Healthcare Clinic.

Additionally, Dr Manuel served from 2000-2013 as adjunct clinical faculty for the College of Optometry overseeing fourth year students during their fourth year in a public clinic setting. She has also served in prior years as a clinical examiner for The National Board of Examiners in Optometry.

Dr. Manuel enjoys traveling and is an accomplished pianist and accordianist. She has served as church pianist for various churches and also accompanied the Houston Police Department’s Gospel Quartet. She crochets and she frequently has a project at hand. A few items are often displayed in the office.

Being a native Houstonian and living in Texas, many assume Dr. Manuel’s name is hispanic. Although she studied Spanish and French languages, she is of Cajun French heritage. Her father was the first generation to relocate in Texas, but the family has lived for decades in the Opelousas area of southwest Louisiana.

​Dr Manuel is married and has two adult children and two grandsons.
